There is much to be thankful for during this time of the year. I just want to take some time to share a few of the things I am thankful for that have happened in this past year.
The beginning of the year was a difficult one as I was trying to tie up the loose ends of my time at APU as an undergrad. Through the support of my friends and family, I was able to graduate in front of my friends and my family (who traveled from near and far to be there for me!). I’m seriously one of the luckiest girls to have her family (extended and all-) at all of my major life events.
This summer was a new adventure for me. Learning how to live on my own, in a new city, where I didn’t know the neighbors. I even learned how to set up my own home phone and internet plan! I had originally accepted a job at Old Navy, but God had another plan for me. After a month of them never returning my calls so I could start the paperwork process, I was blessed with another job opportunity helping out a family that really needed my help. I was able to use my time and skills to bless another family, and in return, they would bless me.
I didn’t end up missing Thanksgiving from home. In fact, I’m lying on my bed in my childhood room writing this! Some of my favorite memories that I have growing up, are spending the holidays with my family. Where we sit at a beautifully decorated table, plates piled with food, laughing with one another, creating fun memories that will last a lifetime. Although not all of my relatives will be there, it will still be nice to be surrounded by family.
